NHL Betting: Avalanche vs Blues Game 6 Player Props – 05/27/2022

The Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues have both had some reliable and juicy player props all series. The Blues made sure there was at least one more game to keep things going. This betting guide will offer some of the player props with favorable odds based on the trends throughout the first five games of this thrilling second-round series.

Pavel Buchnevich Assists (Over 0.5, +130)

Pavel Buchnevich has turned into the most reliable offensive player for the Blues. He’s scored at least a point in each of the last four games, piling up a goal and six assists during that time. Buchnevich logs a ton of minutes and has racked up more than 20 minutes in every game in this series. He’s also involved in the power play. That’s putting him in a lot of positive situations to continue this current point streak.

The line of Buchnevich, Robert Thomas, and Vladimir Tarasenko finally started clicking in Game 5, scoring three goals. Buchnevich assisted on two of them. With the last change at home in Game 6, this should give the Blues a good chance to replicate some of that success. These are great odds (+130) for Buchnevich to have at least one assist, something he’s done four games in a row.

Cale Makar Assists (Over 0.5, -135)

Cale Makar was phenomenal in the first round, racking up 10 points in four games against the Nashville Predators. His production has slowed down in the second round against St. Louis, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a valuable play. Makar has recorded an assist in three straight games and looks extremely comfortable doing it.

Makar is clicking again after going without a point in the first two games of this series. With things heading back to St. Louis for Game 6, Makar has a great chance to keep his modest assist streak rolling. The action should be stepped up with the high stakes in this contest, and that’s where Makar thrives. The odds are getting a little steeper, but there’s still plenty of value in playing him to record at least one assist (-135) on Friday.

Nathan MacKinnon Anytime Goal Scorer (+125)

Nathan MacKinnon has been bonkers the entire postseason. He scored a hat trick (and added an assist) in Game 5, and has scored at least a point in eight of Colorado’s nine playoff games. The MacKinnon everyone saw in Game 6 was a different player. He looked like a guy that wanted to shake the second-round struggles that have plagued this team, and he’ll get another chance on Friday.

The hat trick was the fifth of MacKinnon’s career and his second against the Blues. The other one against St. Louis came almost exactly a year ago, as he had one in a playoff game against them last season on May 19, 2021. He appeared to step his game up in Game 5, and there’s a lot of value in these odds (+125) for him to score again in Game 6 as the Avalanche try to navigate through the second round for the first time since 2010.
