NHL Betting: Predators vs Wild & Ducks vs Blues – 04/24/22

In today’s betting guide, we look at two games featuring the Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues who each look to take hold of second place in their division as the playoff matchup is set. The Wild take on the Nashville Predators, while the Blues visit the Anaheim Ducks.

Nashville Predators (+100) vs Minnesota Wild (-120)

The Predators have been having a tough go at it against playoff teams of late, going 1-4-1 in their past six in those matchups. They also haven’t been able to string together wins since the start of the month. Juuse Saros has been struggling for this recent stretch and David Rittich is expected to start since the Predators lost yesterday. Kirill Kaprizov should be able to hit the scoresheet once again as he just became the first player in Wild franchise history to reach 100 points in a season.

The Wild have been on a warpath to try to stay ahead of the Blues in the standings, going 7-0-1 in their past eight. Their last two losses came to the Blues and Predators. For some reason, the Predators seem to have the Wild’s number this season and are 3-0-0 against them with the end results coming in at 5-2, 6-2, and 6-2. This game will be a different story and the Wild should take this game as they have been red hot. Take the Wild in this one and the over (O6.5, -105).

Anaheim Ducks (+200) vs St. Louis Blues (-250)

The Ducks and Blues game begins just after the Wild game but the Blues should have a much easier time handling the Ducks who are out of playoff contention this season. The Ducks have lost seven of their past nine games and have only defeated other non-playoff teams during that stretch. They have struggled to score goals, which has been a trend for the last half of the season, and have been held to two goals or less in six of those past nine games.

After the Blues’ nine-game win streak was stopped in overtime, they have come back and won two in a row. They are riding a franchise-record point streak that has spanned 15 games. They have been held below four goals just twice and have eight 20-goal scorers this season, which leads the NHL. The Blues are a lock for this game and the over is likely (O6.5, -115).
