NHL Betting: Flyers vs Blackhawks – Player Props – 04/25/22

There’s only one game today, but this betting guide will offer insight into a couple of player props that look to have good value in the contest between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Chicago Blackhawks.

James van Riemsdyk – Points (O0.5, +110)

With three goals in his last three games, James van Riemsdyk is putting together a solid finish to his campaign for the third straight season. He didn’t score in Sunday’s game, but he still brings some value to the table for bettors today to score at least a point.

Today’s game against the Blackhawks will finish off the 15th back-to-back of the season for the Flyers, and van Riemsdyk has been pretty good in these short-rest situations all season. Playing on zero days rest, van Riemsdyk has six goals and three assists this season. He’s also had some good career numbers against Chicago.

Back-to-back or not, van Riemsdyk has been pretty solid against the Blackhawks in his career. In 14 career games against Chicago, he has seven goals and two assists. Add in that 16 of van Riemsdyk’s goals this season have come on the road, and there’s some good value in this number.

Oskar Lindblom – Anytime Goalscorer (+290)

This one’s a little bit riskier, but Oskar Lindblom has shown that he’s got a bit of scoring punch against the Blackhawks. He has three goals in five career games against Chicago, including one in their only contest earlier this season. The Blackhawks have allowed fewer than four goals just once in their last eight games—and an average of roughly four different skaters are scoring per game against Chicago during that stretch. That means opportunity should be available up and down the lineup.

Lindblom has only two points in his last five games, but one of those was a goal on Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens. His minutes have dipped a bit, as the Flyers are testing out what they have in youngsters like Bobby Brink, but there’s still opportunity here. It is the second game of the back-to-back, and the Flyers have spread the wealth on minutes in those situations this season.

There should be some goals scored in this game, and Lindblom’s value comes from his past success. The Flyers are also playing pretty well lately. Philadelphia has won its last two games and has totaled 10 goals in those contests. Lindholm’s odds +290 is a good number to take a leap with on a guy who’s had some success against this opponent in the past.
