NHL Betting: Stanley Cup Final Game 6 Player Props – 06/26/2022

The Tampa Bay Lightning pushed this series to at least one more game, and they’ll get the chance to extend it to a Game 7 on their home ice. Things have tightened up in the last two games of the series, and this betting guide will give some insight into some of the player props with the best value entering Sunday’s pivotal Game 6.

Cale Makar Assists: Over 0.5 (-140)

Cale Makar has four assists in his last three games and has 21 in the postseason. He has posted at least one helper in 12 of Colorado’s 19 playoff games and is piling up tons of minutes. Makar is averaging 27:13 of ice time per game in the playoffs, which is more than any skater on either of these teams. That average has ticked up a bit to 27:35 in this series, and that number could keep going up.

This year’s Norris Trophy winner is probably in line to win the Conn Smythe, too, should the Avalanche close out this series in the next two games. His 29 points are third in the playoffs, behind Edmonton Oilers stars Connor McDavid (33) and Leon Draisaitl (32). Makar has been in the middle of everything in this series for Colorado, and this is a good play for him to get at least one assist (-140).

Mikko Rantanen Assists: Over 0.5 (-130)

Mikko Rantanen doesn’t have a goal in this series, but he does have eight assists in the five games. Friday’s Game 5 was the only contest of the series where he didn’t record at least one helper. He’s looking to pass more, too. After totaling eight shots across Games 2 and 3, Rantanen has just one shot on goal in each of the last two games.

Rantanen has seen his minutes increase over the last two contests, and he’ll be on the ice even more as the Avalanche try to close out the series before landing in a Game 7. He has multiple assists in three of the five games and had at least one assist in both of the previous games in Florida, including two in the Game 3 loss. Expect Rantanen to be in the mix again, and take him to garner at least one helper (-130) in Game 6.

Andrei Vasilevskiy Saves: Over 33.5 (-130)

Make no bones about it, Andrei Vasilevskiy is the reason the Lightning are still playing. Vasilevskiy made 35 saves in the critical Game 5 in Colorado and has stopped at least 34 in each of the last three games, two of which were won by Tampa Bay. He’s back to playing like the goaltender we saw lift the Stanley Cup in the last two seasons, and he should face another onslaught in Game 6.

Tampa has elevated their game over the last three contests, winning two and dropping the other in overtime. Regardless of those outcomes, it doesn’t look like Colorado’s offensive onslaught is going to slow down. If the last two games are any indication, overtime is a very real possibility, as well. This number keeps going up, but take Vasilevskiy to stop at least 34 shots (-130) on Sunday.
