MLS Betting: Orlando vs D.C. & Colorado vs Austin – 07/04/22

In MLS action, four games are on tap for the fourth of July, and fireworks are certainly expected in tonight’s meetings. Orlando City SC hosts D.C. United, as they aim to put some distance between themselves and two other teams currently deadlocked with 25 points each. Meanwhile, Austin FC visits the Colorado Rapids as they look to catch up to LAFC for first place in the Western Conference.

Orlando City SC (-135) vs D.C. United (+333)

Entering the first game of the season against D.C., Orlando carries some bragging rights, having won the previous two meetings, dating back to last year. After winning their previous home game in mid-June, they now have an opportunity to win consecutive home games for the first time in a year. Ercan Kara will look to remain hot, having scored four of Orlando’s last six goals, including all three of the team’s home goals. A win today puts them ahead of both Cincinnati and New England.

D.C. United’s hot start to the season has quickly crumbled to the ground as they sit dead-last in the Eastern Conference. After winning their first two games of the season, D.C. has lost nine of its last 13, picking up just eight points in that span. With a 1-4-1 record on the road, there isn’t much hope for them to reach a better result, especially against a team with some momentum and superior scoring. Take Orlando City for the easy win tonight and pair it with Orlando being shut out for a +210 return on your bet.

Colorado Rapids (-150) vs Austin FC (+375)

The Rapids’ unbeaten streak of 23 games ended the way it started, as it began following a 3-1 defeat to Austin in April of last year and ended with another 3-1 loss, this time against Nashville. For the 26th year since 1996, Colorado will play at home on American Independence Day, and their chances look promising with a 5-1-2 record on home turf this year. Diego Rubio has seven caps in 14 games this season, more than the next three players on the roster combined.

While Austin won their April meeting last year against Colorado, they dropped the remaining two games, losing by a combined score of 4-0. With a road win today, they can tie the New York Red Bulls for the best record while on enemy field, a major change to their disaster of a performance last season. Sebastian Driussi leads the charge for Austin with nine goals in 17 games this year, and the team is scoring by committee. Take them to bring down Colorado tonight due to their superior away streak and ability to get goals from their substitutes in key moments.
