MLB Betting: Giants vs Braves & Dodgers vs Reds – 06/23/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Atlanta Braves look to claim victory in the four-game series against the San Francisco Giants when they go head-to-head for the last time in June. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds close out their three-game series in Cincinnati after the Dodgers won the first two encounters.

San Francisco Giants (+150) vs Atlanta Braves (-170)

The Braves’ month could not have started better, avoiding the sweep against the Arizona Diamondbacks before going on a 13-game winning streak and sweeping four consecutive teams. They put up 10-or-more runs in four games during that span, once against each team they ran through. Atlanta will lean on Kyle Wright to earn a third victory in four games against the Giants. He’s 7-4 in 13 starts and has a season ERA (earned run average) of 2.94. In his last seven games, Wright is 4-2 with 47 strikeouts in 44 innings pitched while allowing just 14 runs on 32 hits.

The Giants turn to Alex Wood to avoid dropping their second season series of the month. After dropping the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City Royals, and Pittsburgh Pirates, the Dodgers have run into some consistency issues and defensive miscues. Wood hasn’t faced the Braves since 2020 and is 2-3 in his last seven starts. His season ERA currently sits at 4.32, with 64 strikeouts in 66.2 innings pitched over 13 starts.

Los Angeles Dodgers (-230) vs Cincinnati Reds (+190)

The Dodgers have an opportunity to sweep their first series of the month since winning back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Angels when they take on Cincinnati for the third and final time in June. Los Angeles has put up eight runs in consecutive games, and their pitching and outfield were good enough to secure both wins. Clayton Kershaw will take the mound to lock up the win, and he presents the Dodgers with an impressive season track record. Currently 4-1 in his last seven starts, Kershaw has struck out 40 batters in 39 innings while holding a 2.08 ERA.

The Reds are at risk of dropping a second consecutive series and a seventh game today. They’re 6-14 on the month thusfar, dropping down to last in the NL Central, and are 15.5 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals. Cincinnati will go with Hunter Greene, who has delivered some solid performances in his last seven starts. He’s 2-2 with an ERA of 3.69, down from his overall season ERA of 5.26, and has struck out 50 batters in his last 39 innings. His last win came against the Diamondbacks on June 6, a game he pitched seven scoreless innings and allowed just one hit.
