3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Wednesday 11/30/22

In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside -- if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists, as well.

Ideally, we want players who will get a lot of ice time together on an even-strength line and a power-play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.

There are only four games on tonight's slate, but there are definitely some stacks to get excited about.

Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres weren't expected to be great this season and then got off to a nice start. It's all come crashing down to earth -- as has happened to Buffalo in the past. There are still some things that we like about the Sabres -- especially their top line.

Buffalo's first line ended last season strong and has been arguably even better this season. Many expected regression from Tage Thompson ($10,000) after his breakout 38-goal season last year, but he's kept it up this season. He has 14 goals already this season (tied for the fourth-most in the league). He continues to play with Jeff Skinner ($6,800) and Alex Tuch ($7,500), who each have 10 goals and 12 assists this season. This line combines forces on the first power-play unit, as well.

The Sabres are playing against their division rivals, the Detroit Red Wings. The last time these two teams met, Buffalo's top line went off. Thompson had three goals and three assists for a stunning 75.4 FanDuel points. Skinner chipped with three points, and the team dominated the shot count 46-18.

Buffalo is an underdog tonight, but if we are targeting highly-correlated first lines with huge ceilings, they are definitely a stack we should consider.

Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers are underperforming a bit compared to expectations. They were hoping to build on last season's run to the conference finals but, currently, only occupy a wild card spot despite playing in a weak Pacific division. Tonight's matchup should see them able to win, and they could rack up some goals.

The Oilers have now loaded up their top line and it's great for fantasy players. They've put their two mega stars Connor McDavid ($10,400) and Leon Draisaitl ($10,200) together at even strength, and we know they are deadly together on the power play. It would be tough to fit Zach Hyman ($8,200) in with them, but Tyson Barrie ($5,900) is a decent option on defense to use with them for power play correlation.

Edmonton will face the Chicago Blackhawks tonight. Chicago has been really struggling as many expected coming into the season. They've allowed the fourth-most goals per game and the fourth-most shots on goal per game, as well.

We always like to roster McDavid and Draisaitl -- especially when they have a fantastic matchup like this one tonight.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs delivered for us on Monday and are in an even better spot tonight. It's always enticing to roster Toronto's star players, and this will be another time when we should do it.

The Leafs have kept the lines the same for a little while now, despite it being a change from what saw them have so much success last season. This sees Auston Matthews ($9,600) playing with William Nylander ($7,800) at both even strength and on the power play. Nylander now has goals in his last three games and has more goals than Matthews. Matthews still possesses the elite upside that we saw last season, even if he hasn't totally shown it yet this year. Michael Bunting ($4,300) has points in three consecutive games and is a good value piece to add to this line.

Toronto is at home against the San Jose Sharks tonight. The Sharks just played last night against the Montreal Canadiens, and, despite getting the shutout win, gave up 67 shot attempts and 36 scoring chances. If they give up that many tonight, the Maple Leafs could score a ton of goals.

The Leafs carry the highest implied team total on the night and don't carry ridiculously high salaries for their first line. Rasmus Sandin ($3,900) had a big game on Monday and continues to man the top power play and, at this salary, is one of the best values on the slate.
